Part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
from 25 November to 10 December

Join Hampshire WI Members on 25 November to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the beginning of 16 days of Activism with a candle lit vigil at the Cenotaph in Portsmouth.

We are supporting the WI campaign for No More Violence against Women and the ‘Not in my Name Campaign’ and welcome members of the public to join us to raise awareness, support and to share their experiences.

If you have a battery-operated candle or nightlight please bring it, but if not we will have some available for you.

No real candles please as we are not permitted to have any naked flames.

We will email you more information nearer to the time of this event.

Any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life.
