SWAY W.I.

Welcome to Sway

Sway W.I. is in the southern part of the New Forest and is one of the oldest W.Is. in
the country, having been formed in 1918.

A warm welcome is offered to new members who may attend two or three meetings
before deciding to join us. Membership for 2012 is £31.50 and includes 8 copies of
the national magazine 'W.I. Life'. Hampshire Federation has its own magazine for
only
£3.30 for the year.

Meetings are usually held in the Village Hall, Middle Road, Sway at 7.30 p.m. on the
second Thursday of each month except August.
We aim to make them interesting and varied with a programme that includes a range
of topics and speakers. The Flower of the Month Competition raises money for
A.C.W.W.
(Associated Country Women of the World) to which the W.I. is affiliated.
There is always the opportunity for enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, a chat, and
perhaps winning a raffle
prize.

We also meet regularly for pub lunches, enjoy being in the Hampshire
W.I. Darts League. (we were runners up last year and are in the finals again this
year). We play skittles, scrabble and bridge, visit gardens etc., and take part in
village activities
such as the Village Quiz, Boule, and Carnival Procession.

There are occasional Craft Meetings in our own W.I. Room, we like to enter the Craft
& Produce sections of the New Forest Show and Group Exhibitions, (this year the
venue will be at Sway Village Hall, on Saturday 21st April, from 10-4 p.m.)
and belong to the Brockenhurst Group comprising Bashley, Bashley Evening, New
Milton Sands and, of course,
S W A Y .

Why not come along on the second Thursday evening of the month at Sway Village
Hall? You never know, you might even enjoy it!
