Holybourne WI

About our WI

We are a friendly Institute, always ready to welcome visitors and new members. We have many varied interests and try to reflect these in our programme.
We take part in the activities of the Alton Group such as skittles, general knowledge quiz and the twice yearly group meetings where there is always an excellent speaker. These meetings are a good chance to meet up with members of other Institutes.
Last year some of us did a calligraphy course at WI House. We also joined in a quiz walk at Odiham and a tea party with flower arranging - one of our members was the demonstrator for this.
A group of us enjoyed some not too strenuous walks followed by a pub lunch and hope to arrange more this year.
In the years since our WI restarted in 1974, after a break of a few years, we have taken part in various village activities. Although our interests may be wide ranging, we are still often asked to provide cakes and refreshments for village occasions!
Look at our programme for 2010, choose a talk that interests you and come along to Holybourne Village Hall. Our meetings begin at 7.30 p.m. on the third Thursday in each month. We will be very pleased to welcome you.
