Hedge End WI


We are a very friendly group of ladies who meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month in the 2000 Centre, Hedge End at 7.30 p.m.
Our activities include a walking group which meets in the morning of the 2nd Tuesday of each month and a craft club which meets during the evening of the same 2nd Tuesday, then a book reading club which meets on the 1st Thursday monthly. Social events such as skittles evenings, coach outings and guided walks are held at various times during the year. Also during the school holidays in August we enjoy a Family Day and a Christmas Party is arranged for the children in January. May this year is the month for our Spring Buffet and during December members enjoy a festive feast supplied by the local caterer and his team. It is hoped that in November a Christmas Theme day can be arranged, when our members will enjoy a day of making something on a Christmas theme, as well as watching other demonstrations with Christmas in mind - more details will follow.
Many of our members knit hats and teddies for the Samaritans Purse Charity and collect voluntary donations of toiletries for emergency patients at the local Moorgreen Hospital as part of our Community Projects programme. Our meetings programme below demonstrates the wide interests shown by all our members and their enthusiasm to enjoy themselves whilst remembering the more serious aspects of the WI movement.
