Bursledon Women's Institute

Founded 1924

We are a friendly village WI with membership hovering around the 30 mark, and we meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 2 pm in the Village Hall, Long Lane (except for July when we have an outdoor meeting in one of our members' gardens.
We take part, with varying degrees of success, in darts, skittles, scrabble and quizzes, and have craft meetings and a drama group.
Every summer we have outings to places of interest and each month our walking group trot off on a countryside ramble (with blisters to prove it!).
Our meeting range from the sedate (when we have a serious speaker) to the hilarious when our own drama group provides the entertainment. We have a raffle and a sales table, which includes preserves, and produce, and plants, from our own gardens. We have a competition each month, and, of course, the keenly contested 'Bloom of the Month'.
Our field of interests and social events are widened by belonging to the Hamble River Group of WI's.
Our meetings end with tea and biscuits, and lots of chat.
If you fancy a pleasant afternoon in friendly company please come and join us, as we always welcome new members.
