Burridge & Park Gate

Welcome to the Burridge & Park Gate WI web page. We are an active group with around 40 members of various ages and a wide range of interests. We warmly welcome visitors and new members to both our meetings and other activities.
Our regular monthly meetings take place on the 1st Tuesday of each month (except July) at St Margaret Mary Hall, Middle Road, Park Gate. We invite a wide range of speakers throughout the year to inform and entertain us as well as holding demonstrations and the opportunity to participate in some new activities to keep our minds and bodies active.
In addition to our monthly meetings we have lots of other activities to join in with; craft group, drama group, mah-jong, darts team, walks, visits, local craft and produce competitions, skittles team, participation in County and National Campaigns which affect our communities and lots more ad hoc activities throughout the year. We are always looking for new ideas from members and potential members to give us the widest appeal to local women.
All you have to do to try us out is to come along to one of our meetings. If you want to find out more please get in touch by using the mail button below or calling 01489 576045 between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
Our 2009 meeting schedule is available below, please note that there are a couple of meetings not being held at St Margaret Mary Hall, February and March meetings will be held on our normal meeting date but will be located at the Ellen Newbury Hall behind the United Reform Church on Sarisbury Hill (just off the A27).
Our resolutions meeting was lively (as usual) and our members were in favour of both resolutions. Our annual meeting again was a lively affair and our committee and president were elected for a second term with a welcome addition in the form of Jenny (two of them now on the committee!).
We are looking forward to our Christmas meeting and especially the Christmas get together (which happens in January but are we bothered!). Our January meeting also includes our Horticultural Cup competition, my entry (if I can get it past the New Year) will definitely be better than the failed bizzie lizzies which I found in my handbag two weeks after forgetting where I had put them. However, having thrived in the dark confines of the bag they totally failed to thrive in a bright, sunny greenhouse with lots of air and water (I think they did it on purpose).
We look forward to seeing you in 2009, please come along if you can, you are always guaranteed a warm welcome.
