Burghclere and Newtown WI

Founded in 1919 our membership is drawn mainly from the two
adjacent villages in the title which lie on the North Hampshire
border. We are also part of the North Downs Group.
Our Institute is an integral part of the two villages of
Burghclere & Newtown, in which we take an active interest.
Fresh flowers are placed by our members on the war memorial in
Burghclere every week except for November when we take the
opportunity to commemorate our War dead with poppies.
We meet on the first Wednesday in the month (except August)at the
Portal Hall in Burghclere from 10 am to 12 noon.
Our programme for 2010 is set out below. All are welcome and if a
particular speaker appeals to you come and join us, with or
without obligation. Please contact Joan Stone 01635 278562
for further assistance.
