The WI is a lively group of about 40 members. In 2009 members enjoyed a busy and interesting year, with informative speakers on a variety of subjects. The members have enjoyed social meetings, usually involving food. They have learnt about the Antarctic, Venice, the Legends around King Arthur, and been informed about Independent Living and making Wills. On the lighter side they have been entertained by Mr Peter Redmond and enjoyed some Social afternoons. The year ended with 'Visual Illusions' showing the members the tricks the eyes and brain can play. Members have attended the Anton Group Meetings. At the Autumn Meeting 6 members were part of the entertainment provided by all 7 WIs in the Group for the members. Members have attended the Spring and Autumn meetings of HCFWI, and some of the other event organised by the Hampshire County Federations of WIs. |
