Andover Afternoon WI

About our WI

Andover Afternoon WI meets on the first Wednesday of each month, at St Mary's Church Centre, Marlborough Street, Andover, at 2pm. In August there will be a Social Afternoon, at a different venue, yet to be announced.
The Church Centre is next to the West Door of St Mary's Church.
Andover Afternoon WI was founded in July 1981, and celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2006 with a special meeting and lunch held in Andover Guildhall.
The WI is a lively group of about 40 members. In 2007 members enjoyed a busy and interesting year, with informative speakers on a variety of subjects. The members have enjoyed social meetings, usually involving food. They have learnt about the work of the Samaritans, Tall Ship sailing in a Wheelchair, Flying a Huey Helicopter in the Falklands War, the Life of our MP's wife and a short break in Tibet, among manyother subjects. Members have attended the Anton Group Meetings, and some of the events of the Hampshire County Federations of WIs.
In 2008 the WI Outing will be in late June or early July, Destination yet to be decided. It is more than likely that it will include a WI Tea on the way back to Andover. Outings usually leave Andover about 9am anbd return between 6 and 7pm.
We welcome visitors to our meetings. Just come, but if you would like to be acompanied on your first visit please click on the link below.
