Pennington WI was formed in 1923 and has just celebrated its 84th with a lunch for members at a local hotel. It is a very active and friendly Institute, owning its own hall and at present it has 40 members. Meetings are held in the evenings at 7pm on the 2nd Tuesdays of the month and members enjoy speakers on a great variety of subjects. |

Apart from the monthly meetings, a lunch club and day outings are arranged and members take part in social evenings. Fund raising is important to maintain the high standard of the hall and events are arranged and well supported by members. The main fund raising event each year is by the very entertaining Drama Group (P.W.I.T.S ) who begin their rehearsals in September and perform their variety show to local groups, organisations and other WIs during the winter months in various villages in the area. The programme for 2007 promises to be of great interest and all visitors and new members are made very welcome. |
