Hordle W I

Hordle W.I. has nearly 50 members and meets in its own hall on the first Tuesday of every month at 2:15pm. Visitors and new members are always welcome and we endeavour to provide interesting and topical speakers and demonstrations
Among our activities that take place in the hall are craft afternoons on a Monday at 2.30pm, Scrabble second and fourth Thursday afternoons at 2pm, and a Drama group first and third Thursday afternoons also at 2pm
The hall is a very popular venue for local groups and these currently include: Ballroom Dancing, Slimming World, Keep Fit, Art Club, Line Dancing, Yoga, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. It is also a meeting place for the Gardening Club, and women’s section of the Royal British Legion.
We arrange regular outings to theatres, pub lunches, trips to places of interest, and events in London.
Our main fund-raising events are Spring and Autumn Fairs, with a wide selection of cake, plant and craft stalls.
We welcome visits from other institutes and are happy to provide cream teas for groups if booked in advance.
The hall, which seats 120 people and has a stage with sound and lighting and a well-equipped kitchen, is available for hire. Contact number for bookings is 01425 622458
We are a member of the Lymington Group of Women's Institutes and particularly enjoy taking part in competitions at the WI marquee at the New Forest Show, where we regularly help with the ‘stewarding’
