In 2010 the Sport, Leisure & Wellbing Sub-Committee is planning plenty of activities to suit everyone. We hope to see some of you at all our events. |

On Saturday April 24 there will be an Orienteering Day on Southampton Common. (This is not a HCFWI organised event but organised by the Southampton Orienteering Club) The Orienteering will be for both beginners and the more experienced. The day will start at 10am for registration at the Hawthorns Centre. It will end at 2pm. The cost will be £3 for adults and £1 for children. Families are welcome. There will be more details of this event in the March edition of Hampshire News. A Sub-Committee will be at this event to welcome you, so please phone one of the numbers in the March edition of Hampshire News to tell them you are coming. The Final Round of the HCFWI Skittles Tournament will be played on Tuesday 11 May, at the Winchester Club, Worthy Lane, Winchester, SO23 7AB at 7.15 for 7.30pm. The teams playing will be: Burridge & Park Gate, Medstead, Micheldever, Milford on Sea, and North End. We regret the venue is not large enough to take supporters other than those with the playing teams. |

On Tuesday 22 June there is to be a Nature Walk along the River Hamble, to be lead by Education Officers of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. There is the opportunity to visit the Swanwick Nature Reserve in the afternoon. Meet at Burridge Village Hall at 10am and return for a soup and sweet lunch, to be provided by Burridge & Park Gate WI. Application on the back page of March Hampshire News. The walk is suitable for all mobility abilities, but not for wheelchairs. |

On Wednesday 30 June Mel Wainwright will be leading a 6 mile walk in the New Forest. Starting from the car park at Fritham, 10.15 for a 10.30 start. More details in the April Newsletter. Please phone Mel to tell her you are coming. Bring a picnic lunch, or go to one of the nearby pubs. |

On Wednesday 14 July there will be a Quiz Walk, this time in Winchester. Meet at WI House at 6pm. This event will include supper. Details in the April Hamphsire News with the application on the back page. |

On Tuesday 24 August there is the opportunity to try New Age Kurling. Come along to Burridge Village Hall for a Taster Afternoon, to be led by Jo Melville and Janet Colley. Start at 2pm, and learn about this fascinating new sport. This event will be suitable for all. Details in the May Hampshire News. |

On Wednesday 27 October there will be a Dance Day with Elaine Bywaters, 10am - 3pm. To be held at Four Marks Village Hall. The Hall is easy to find, just off the A31 in Four Marks, with plenty of parking. Those members who have been to Elaine's Dance Days before will know what a treat is in store, and those new to this will discover for themselves what fun can be had. You will need to bring a packed lunch to this day. Details to come. |

On Tuesday 23 November there will be an Indoor Games Morning at WI House, with a Soup and Apple Crumble lunch. After lunch you can indulge in some Christmas retail therapy in Winchester in the afternoon. Details to follow. Watch this space and Hampshire News for more details of all these events. All these activities are in addition to the Darts, Skittles and Scrabble Competitions that the Sport, Leisure and Wellbeing Sub-Committee organises for HCFWI every year. |
