Beading at WI House was much enjoyed
but needed concentration.....
One step further with Calligraphy, under
the expert eye of Marcia Collins
The famous Mural has now been removed
from the studio at Denman and
will be conserved by volunteers
from the National Needlework Archive
at The Old Chapel, Greenham, near Newbury
It was designed by Constance Howard
for the Festival of Britain in 1951.
It's correct title is "The Country Wife".
It was given to NFWI, & has been housed
at Denman College for many years.
The newly refurbished Hampshire Room
at Denman College
is maintained by the Federation and is
just one of the many comfortable rooms
available when staying at the college
